Prayer Books
The very first book I ever read about prayer was The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian. This book was life changing and immediately helped me to see my husband through eyes of love. I also like it because there are written out prayers at the end of each chapter. The prayers are powerfully written out, as the author includes Bible verses into the prayers. Since then, I've read a few others by her and they are listed below.
The Power of Prayer to Change Your Marriage (I recommend reading this one after The Power of a Praying Wife).
If you want to know more about prayer, you can read The Battle Plan for Prayer by Stephen and Alex Kendrick, and if you are ready to get serious about praying, you can read Fervent by Priscilla Shirer. Both of these books are based on the movie War Room.
I also recommend Prayers That Avail Much, 25th Anniversary Commemorative Gift Edition: Three Bestselling Works in One Volume by Germaine Copeland. This is a good book if you don't know what to pray. Read these prayers out loud, and like Stormie Omartian's books, they have Bible verses incorporated in them so you are literally praying the Word of God.
One other book I can think of that has helped me in my prayer life is Too Busy Not to Pray by Bill Hybels.
Read some of these and let me know what you think! Please contact me if you want other book recommendations and I will be happy to respond.
Happy Reading!
